Hi,

For the last few days my PC has been peaking at 100% for no apparent reason. I've not really tried much but this is what I've done.

I ran adaware, spybot and norton AV all to which I've not had any major problems other than a 'W32.Spybot.Worm'http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html which was automatically deleted by Norton.

I also read up about CPU Usage a little bit after doing a google search. I realised though that the CPU usage tends to shift from it's liking of process. It was quite clearly peaking at 99% with explorer.exe but then after about 15mins when I checked again, it was cidaemon.exe that was peaking and not explorer.exe and I have no idea what that could be.

I am currently downloading updates for spybot sd and have firefox open. I have my task manager open and HJT too. The spikes on the taskmanager are a lot calmer since the worm was removed (the one mentioned earlier) but I keep getting red spikes too. Are they the kernel times? The CPU Usage is fortunately at arouund 4% on average if I sit and watch it for a minute too which is a relief.

I think my problem is fixed but could someone run through my HJT Log and double check for me? And if there are any suggestions on keeping the CPU usage healthy then please let me know.

Thanks.

My PC specs are:
Pentium 4
512mb DDR
120GB
GeForce 4 MX440
128mb DDR/TV-Out
2.80ghz
Windows XP Home Edition

:)
