Crashed System

    MY WHOLE SYSTEM CRASHED I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO WINDOWS AT ALL EVERYTIME I REBOOT MY COMPUTER KEEPS TELLING ME ITS SAFE TO TURN IT OFF , SAFE MODE DOERSNT WORK I DONT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY TO BOOT WINDOWSW FROM MY CDROM. I KNOW ITS A VIRUSE BUT IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SAVE MYSELF THE TROUBLE OF HVAVING TO TAKE IT IN TO BE BE FIXED, PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

    Hi Frankie,

    Your best bet is probably to obtain a Windows 98 boot disk (try this link to obtain one):

    http://www.bootdisk.com/original.htm

    Once you've created a good boot disk, use it to boot to a DOS prompt, then format your hard drive. Then reboot (again, using the Windows 98 bootdisk), make sure that you choose to boot WITH CD-ROM support, then use your Windows CD to re-install your operating system.

    This is assuming that you've backed up any important documents, and wouldn't mind having to format and re-install everything.
