I am trying to copy or move an outlook.pst file from a failing hard drive to a backup drive. It gets to about 95% and then I get hit with the cyclic redundancy error. I have tried to do this in safe mode and safe mode in DOS as well.

Can anyone help with this? Thanks!

A Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) tells you that it is unable to get a corrupt free copy, probably because of the hard drive problem.

Safe mode etc will not help, its a case of data corruption either from the source or on the target device. In this case most likely the source (failing) hard drive is unable to offer a corruption free copy.
