    Hi guys,

I was looking up various searches in Google, and I came across this old thread: http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/826352-solved-autonumbering-macros-excel-2007-a.html

Basically, I am creating a Software Bug Report which will be filled in by Testers who testing some internal software. When they load up the Bug Report, I want to assign it a Defect ID in the format "DEFECTXXX" where "XXX" starts at 001 and then increments automatically.

However, each bug report needs to be saved as its own spreadsheet, so I will need the autonumber to pick up the last used number from the previous saved workbook - if that makes sense.

I also want to then take that Defect ID "DEFECTXXX" and use it to form the filename for each saved report for example "DEFECTXXX Report.xls" - is that possible to do??

Many thanks in advance for your help.
