Is there a work-around to create a local account without first logging into the Microsoft account?

The only account presently in place is the Microsoft account.

To make a "Local Account" one must be a member of the Administrator group.

What is the problem of logging into the Microsoft Account?

Site rules state that we can not help with the bypassing of passwords in any manner.
    Sorry

The question is whether there is a way to create a local account without logging into Windows. I have no need to access the deceased user's account.

Install Windows. The easiest way to create a local account instead of a Microsoft account is to make sure there is no internet access until the account is created.

try booting into the safe mode and the use the Administrator account.
If this has not been password you then may be able to restore to factory setting giving you a system as it left the factory.

It would help if you were to post the system spec's.

This is something people need to think of just as they do with things like bank accounts and life insurance.

After logging into the computer, the next issues may be accessing cloud services.

Unfortunately it's not easy accessing a lost love one's data without knowing their passwords.

According to the rules, this site can't help. I hope you find a service that can.

She doesn't want or need the user data on the computer. She just wants to use the computer without having to reinstall all the programs that are on it.

Posting the make and model may help us help you in rebuilding the OS so she can have a nice clean machine?

I'll go tell the dead man; but, I'm sure he won't listen. I'll get the address of the cemetery and his lot number; maybe he will listen to you.

Not much more we can say or do here, if she just wants access to the PC you can reload it. We do have a password policy and this falls under that.

Also Alex, your response is quite insensitive, hopefully the widow never see's your reply. All that was stated was simple facts and was informational and you took it as some sort of attack so for that additional reason this thread should be closed.
