I've created a music playlist as a gift, consisting of mp3 downloads. I want to have the playlist exported from a PC windows 7, to a thumb/flash drive so that the person I'm giving it to can insert the thumb drive to his android phone and have it play automatically.

I already found out that in order to do this, I must create an m3u file, otherwise the the thumb drive will simply file and play the songs alphabetically, rather chronologically as they're arranged in the playlist.

How do I do this? I googled the process extensively and attempted it myself but failed. I created an m3u file of the playlist, and transferred that, along with the mp3 songs onto the thumb drive, however it doesn't play when I insert the drive into my phone (Samsung 7) unless I click on each song. I want it to either play automatically, or play the entire playlist after clicking "play."

I need step by step instructions from start to end in layman terms. It's for my boyfriend of over 2 years who is in the hospital receiving chemo treatments. So I'm desperate to get this to work.

    Thank you so much.

If it doesn't matter much you could just have the music files in an album as that would probably work better and can just be done by editing the details of the music files in properties and changing the album name so they all use the same one.

Hi! Thank you for the advice. Could you explain further what you mean?

Music files in an album? You mean folder?

Edit details of music files? How should I edit them?

Change album name? What album? They are downloaded mp3 files from various artists.

Apologies. I'm still new at this.

If you right click the individual music files and go to details there will be a section called Album which you can change and there is also another section called track number which is how the album is ordered so if you edit all the songs you are wanting to use and change the album section to the same name and number them in the order you want them to play then you can put them in a folder. I'm sorry if i can't explain it very well if this doesn't help then try google and see if theres any guides for it E.G. https://www.wikihow.com/Edit-ID3-Tags http://www.instructables.com/id/How-To-UpdateChange-Tags-on-a-song/ Hope this helps.
