Creating 'Slide Layouts' in Powerpoint

    is there a way to create 'slide layouts' in PPT???? I would like to be able to create and add them as a slide layout template window....

    If that's not what you mean, could you be more specific?

    When you create a new slide, it brings you into the "Slide Layout" taskpane. The OP (Original Poster) seems interested in creating new layouts. Red I have not seen a way of creating new layouts. You could however make multiple masters, which is what it seems Anne is trying to lead you down the path of.

    Thanks for the last reply - you hit the nail on the head, I have read a post about doing it in the new office 2007 for vista. but i would like to do it for XP......

    maybe Ill just make my own slide layout window....
    and insert differnt slides from a template...
    seem like a lot of work for a feature that should already be there.
