A friend is having Ceossfire problems. He has a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard and a pair of ATI 5870 cards. Both cards are recognised in the primary (16x) PCI-e slot, so we have rules out a defective card. If he tries either of them, as a single card, in the secondary 8x slot it is not recognised at all, either in win or BIOS. It sounds very much as if the secondary slot is kafuffed, just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on any other possible problems. Thanks all :)
