css problem

    hello
    Im trying to lern css.
    in dreamwever Ive made a style sheet how ever I dont seem to be able to set the size of the font.
    below is what is in my .css file

    h1 {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 36px;
    font-weight: normal;
    color: #FF0000;
    }
    body {
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-style: normal;
    font-weight: normal;
    background-color: #000000;
    color: #33CC00;

    }


    in the body it dosent matter what I type into the font size it doent change on the page. with the head it dose. what am I doing wrong??

    I needed to add the p propetry in the css file.
