Has anyone ever heard of the magic three finger salute (ctl+alt+del) being disabled? A friend of mine has a Win98 system that, for as long as she remembers, never responded to ctl+alt+del. When she presses it, even when everything is working properly, absolutely nothing happens. It's as if the keys were never pressed. Any ideas why this happens or how to fix it?

Different virus's disable the "three-finger-salute". First thing I'd do is a virus scan... Use Procrecon to view the running processes and shut down any questionable processes prior to scanning.
