I have a few computers obtained from an auction. The were used in a hospital and have the ctrl alt delete log in to get on the computers(Win XP). Is there a way to remove this short of reformatting.

    start > run > control userpasswords2
    Advanced Tab
    Uncheck the box.

Open the Registry (Start => Run and type in regedit)
    Navigate to this key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right-hand pane look for a string named DisableCAD
If it has a Value of 0, right-click and Modify the decimal Value to 1

Alternatively, you can select the DisableCAD string, right-click on it, and Delete it.
