Just before xmas I had to send my Gateway notebook in to be serviced. It's a MX7120 running Windows XP. It now has the most annoying idiosyncrasy. When ever you leave the cursur on an executable object (like a page command or a link) it will automatically launch that function. It makes browsing a pain and composing an email or document nearly impossible. I deleted the Synoptics drivers, downloaded the correct ones and reinstalled them to no avail. I've also deleted the touchpad and rebooted letting Windows restore the hardware, again to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. This is driving me nuts.

Welcome,

Have you tried disabling the Touch pad...

How is the mouse connected......have you got another one to try?
