When I shut down my PC at night, the changes I make in my default page setup and my custom toolbars don't keep my changes. How can I fix this? :(

    AddIns are usually to blame.

If you have Acrobat 7 installed this can cause it - assuming you're talking Word.

Actually, yes I do have Acrobat 7 installed. Is there no way to fix it?

I believe corrupt ocx files can also cause this.

It appears that the Adobe fix took care of the problem (after I revised the registry as indicated in the document. Thanks!
