I recently installed Pinnacle PCTV MediaCenter on my computer and now I can't seem to play .mpg files off websites anymore.

I can play all the usual files, I can play .wmv off of websites, etc. The only thing that doesn't work is .mpg off of websites. However, if I "Save As" the .mpg, the file works fine.

I know it's the Pinnacle program causing it because I did a system restore and the files worked fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried everything I can think of (reinstalling WMP, upgrading to 11, various other things that did not work).

Edit: Actually I installed the program from a CD; It's late and I just put D/Led in the title. Also, WMP claims C00D11CD error when I try to play the .mpg files. Though this doesnt' help at all seeing as that is a very general "something is wrong" error.

Pinnacle PCTV cards install a proprietary mpeg codec that's probably causing your problem. Try using the Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility, to set your default codec back.
