I recently upgraded my two computers to XP. I was surprised to see the my network configuration was considered 'unsafe'. I have two systems connected to a cheapo hub, which in turn hooks to a cable modem for an uplink. My software firewall uses resources and may not be 100% effective. The dlink seems the way to go. Both computers are using dhcp and the ip might change in 24hrs. After reading about the dlink it seems one has to type in an ip for the router to use, then let the computers use dhcp. So my question is "can the router and my computers both use dhcp and will it still work properly as a hardware firewall?"

update: I bought the D-link DI-704 and Zonealarm hasn't given 1 alert yet. No more pop-up ads either. I'm just wondering how secure I'll be when file and printer sharing is enabled.
