D:\SETUP.EXE file appears to be corrupt

I recently had my computer fixed... (new cd-rom and a floppy put in) They did a quick restore and I have to add all my programs. I added aol, my printer, microsoft office 2000..BUT I tried to add my mustek scanner, norton virus protection, appleworks6 and a couple games for my son, and when I click install program....I get a grey box stating "the D:\SETUP.EXE appears to be corrupt. reinstall the file and try again". What does this mean and how do I reinstall it. I called the compaq warranty guy and he said if it worked for the others it should work for these. THAT did not make me happy. Anyway I called compaq tech support and THEY told me all the cds must be bad. I am so frustrated and feel they are just giving me the runaround because I am not a "paying" customer, because I bought the warranties. Please someone help me get this file back.....sxyswf
