Does anyone know if there is such a think as a d-sub to DVI converter? I want to buy the nVidia 7800gs videocard by BFG but I want to keep the dual monitors that I am currently running with my nVidia 6600gt by Xfx which both use DVI. The 7800 comes with one DVI output and one d-sub output. Any solutions? Thanks!

VGA is D-sub, the cable you linked to is the reverse (DVI to VGA), not what you want.

DVI connectors on a video card also contain the VGA (analogue) signals, so conversion of DVI to Analogue (VHA, D-Sub) is simple and can be done with a cable.

What you want is the reverse, where you need to do a full digital conversion from the analogue signal and pixel mapping, its not as simple as a cable, hence the price.

No cheap solution.

You know. Im sorry but I just realized something. Right now Im using a converter to go TO D-Sub. I have two DVI ports but am using two dongles to go to D-Sub. So if I get the new videocard I can just plug one monitor straight into the card and use one of the dongles on the DVI port, right?
