    Hi

Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to backup the data on my EXTERNAL hard drive?

Also another option might be to change it from NTFS to fat32 without losing any data???

    Thanks

you can backup your stuff on an external hard drive, but the problem with this is that the external is only a hard drive, if this fails you will loose your work, what you should do is back up your stuff on DVDs this is a more permanent and secure way of backing up.

any external drives or flash drives should really be kept as FAT32, but depending on the size of the drive you can consider partitioning it one side FAT32 the other NTFS.

read this, going from NTFS to FAT32 - do a google search.
