When I start up my computer, it goes through the regular loading process but stops at the following message:
    data error reading drive C
    Abort, Retry, Fail?

No matter what command I put in the prompt, it tells me its a bad command. I can't even shut down the computer. What can I do?

I tried doing a scandisk and that did not work either.

It sounds like it's either damaged data or physical damage on the hard disk.

What happened when you ran Scandisc?

If scandisk is unable to repair it, or indicates that the hard disk may have sustained physical damage, you may need to send in your hard drive for service.
