I have a start up problem. When starting up I get a message saying "Data error reading drive C. Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail"

When I choose Abort, the system shuts down. When I choose Retry, Ignore, or Fail I get a message about the Registry File and "Error 6107: could not set up instance data" It then says something about running scan disc but I have to restsrt the computer and it brings me right back to "Data error reading drive C..."

    I'm using Windws 95.

Have a look here which will lead you to here which MIGHT resolve your registry issues.
But with the read error you're getting, I've got nast suspicion that your hard drive is bad....
