try booting the computer up into safemode by restarting the pc and tapping the F8 key until a menu appears with boot options. Choose safemode then press enter. a bunch of text will scroll on the screen, which is normal, then press yes at the popup box to goto safemode and login as administrator if available. once the computer is started in safemode try to access and copy the files you want to another part of the hard drive such as just the main C: drive so you can access them with your regular account once started up in normal mode. If you still get the same error when trying to access the files even in safemode then goto this site and read the instructions on how to take ownership of the files. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421/en-us

good luck
