Laptop connects to my secure wireless router (with asking for password?) and it shows the little blue symbol that it is connected, but you can't get the internet. I have disconnected and reconnected and it still will auto connect to a secure network, but won't open browser, etc.....

Thank you!

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

[Press ENTER after the command.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

That appears to be a good ethernet connection to a router; no wireless hardware evident.

Exactly! That's what has me puzzled. And it was a new router, but the laptop connects w/o asking for password.
Any other ideas as to why I can't connect, but it's online?

I'm sorry, but I'm not following you at all. Are you having a problem with the PC office-homePC (post # 4)? If so, what exactly?

I also do not understand what you mean by "I can't connect, but it's online?" (post # 6).

Sorry for confusion! No trouble w/ PC at home, but that was the only way I could follow your config. instructions to paste anything.
The trouble is the laptop that connects to wireless, but won't allow internet.

If the laptop is connecting to the same router as office-homePC but cannot access the internet then the cause is probably (but not necessarily) a firewall (or security suite).

No security on this laptop and I disabled the Windows firewall. Still won't allow internet access, but shows it's online. Oh well.... I'll have someone come to house.
Thank you for hanging in there!
