DDR ram question

    What will happen if i replace a pc2100 256 ram chip with a pc333 512 along with my other pc 2100 that will stay in.

    So my computer will have: 512 pc333 along with a 256 pc2100..... will that work? what are the consiquences

    As I understand it Ram chips of different speeds will run at the slower speed (ie 2100.)

    Though there are other potential pitfalls - such as different Ram modules being incompatible.

    Your best bet would be to only use the PC2700 (333 Mhz) Ram on its own.

    Also - what motherboard do you have ?
