Have a Toshiba Satellite P205D, AMD Dual core, 4 gigs of RAM, running Vista SP2. This computer has been a cherry running without problems or glitches. Last night I went in, and it was OFF!!, No lights on the front panel, dead in the water. I checked the power coming from the wall, power was good. The computer was plugged into a UPS, Battery backup, and there were no storms in the area. I suspect but don't know that the AC adapter went bad, then sucked the battery dry. But don't know how to proceed. Data was all backed up, so more a hassle than a catastrophe.

    Thanx in advance as always

Yes that would be suspect that the AC adapter died, you can use a voltmeter to see what the DC output is, this is not a sure way to determine if it is bad, it could be outputting voltage, but not enough amps, this would require you to measure DC voltage output under a load.
