Dead motherboard or CPU ??

Hi..I have this computer when you press the on button there is no activity at all...no fans spin nothing its like there is no power connected...everything is fine on the computer..the PSU tests fine (even tried a different good PSU), all the devices are fine they work on another computer.....so its either the CPU or motherboard...any one know what it could be ?? any info is appreciated

sounds like a mobo to me, if it were cpu then you would at least get a beep code and fans powering up.

sounds more of a mobo job, but check the cables though!

Yeah, it definitely sounds like the motherboard. As has been mentioned, CPUs generate BIOS beep codes. Not to mention that it's very very rare that a CPU will die, especially before the mainboard.

I jostled the heatsink a little when the computer was still on before it died...think that could have done it ??
