Dead power supply or motherboard???

    How can I tell if my power suppy is dead or the motherboard is dead. When I press the power button, nothing happens.

    Computer is out of warranty and is a DELL 4600

    Please help

    You'll need to get your hands on a powersupply and swap it into the DELL to see if thats the problem.

    No fans, no nothing? Other than a Volt/Ohm meter - find something thats 12v, like an old fan or small dc motor and hook it up to a yellow and black wire on one of the connections - if it runs it OK. Or put the PSU in a different computer.
