Where do I start....thanks, in advance, for any assistance.

    DESKTOP: Running Win XP Pro

About 2 months ago, out of nowhere, my desktop starts sloowing down incredibly. Right away, I began getting messages that there was a Runtime Error and Would I like to Debug. It actually says: A Runtime Error has occured. Do you wish to Debug? Line: 203, Error: Object Expected (or excepted? )

If I asnwer YES, I get aNOTHer error:

An exception Runtime Error has occured in Script. However, no debuggers are registered that can debug this exception. Unable to JIT Debug.

Up till about a month ago, I was atleast able to get to the Debug window --- NOT that Win gives one any instructions on how to use it. But that finally stopped, instead, giving me that 2nd error alert.

During all of this, I might as well be on 14.4 D/U with the speed (NOT) of my connection. Also, I JUST began to get the ol' Virtual Memory pop-up, but THAT won't even go thru the motions now.

Lastly, I just had a "professional" reformat my laptop and every ten or so minutes the pointer/mouse/cursor freeze and I have to restart. I have no idea where to start with this problem. Is this the hardware itself or a software thig or....? I have no idea whom to ask.

    Again, thanks in advance.

First please get Spybot S&D to clear out most of the spyware.

Short tutorial and download link here:
    http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/

Fix everything SpybotSD labels in red.

    Then after reboot:
Download 'Hijack This to its own folder http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
