    Alienware M14X R2 Laptop
    HD4000
    Nvidia 650M

Only reason I upgraded from 8.1 was DirectX 12. Cant play Modern Warfare. Much appreciated.

That must be on the CPU integrated graphics the HD4000 on your IvyBridge CPU

OR it is incorrectly reported as may happen with that 650M on Windows 10

With out knowing your complete computer specs or the brand/make/model of your laptop and as my colleague pointed out. Your CPU has a GPU built on it which is indicated by the HD 4000. So, I'm thinking with the grade to windows 10, that something reset the BIOS or how the BIOS interacts with the transfer of the GPU protocol.

There should be somewhere in the BIOS for setting the 650m to dedicated and turning off the the intel HD 4000. Also look for any driver updates as well as a chipset and BIOS update.

Thanks for the reply. The Bios is useless. It is totally devoid of options. No graphics options and no gpu options. Alienware left it all up to the OS. Tips? Still not able to play MW.

Any idea on how to fix it? Windows 8.1 had no such issues. I tried the DedicatedSegementSize trick but it doesnt work neither.

Unfortunately as you may know, Dell offer no support for windows 10 on that computer
Many people make the same mistake, as you, if it was a mistake, they think because their computer meets the requirements of windows 10, using the base specifications that 10 requires- all will be OK
That is NOT the case, if your manufacturer offers no support for 10, then you are either using Windows 10 provided drivers which are basic reference drives
OR you are going on a web search to find if drivers are offered by the separate manufacturers of the parts in your computer, for 10

    1. Check you have the latest Nvidia driver for the 650M
    https://www.geforce.com/drivers

    2. Check you have the latest HD4000 driver
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81499/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000

However be aware as Intel tells you
That said Dell do not provide the one for 10 for the reason mentioned

If you have tried the Nvidia Control Panel and added the game to the whitelist
    see here
    https://uk.alienwarearena.com/ucf/s...ral-1/ForumPost/fps-problems-alienware-m14xr2

then I suspect it is a lost cause, for Modern Warfare
and your computer does not meet the NEW requirements for the latest version of Modern Warfare

and you cannot upgrade the graphics the 650m is a chip on the system board

I am sure this is not good news for you, but - it is the hard facts of the march of technology
