running w98 os, when i try to run defrag i get message that it is not installed and to go to the add/remove software, select windows setup tab and then follow instructions. i do this and look in the system tools, however no defrag can be found. i do not know what to do at this point.

    any help would be welcomed.

    thanks

    Hi gdl54 ,

    Welcome to the board.

Hit F3 (Find/files and folders), and do a search for the file Defrag.exe. It should be in C:\Windows.

If it's elsewhere, put it there.
If it isn't there at all, restore it from your Windows CD-ROM:

    Good luck,
