Defragment

    Hi I have been trying to defragment my disk...I have windows me and it will not work...I stays on 0 and does not do any thing. I do close all my programs when running this...scan disk works ok whats up with this...???? Ellen @-(--(-- :eek:

    try in safe mode - stop and screensavers, virus, etc

    no error messages - just sits at 0 - get a task bar up and see what cpu the process is using

    Empty your IE browser cache.
    Browse to \Windows\Temp. Select all files, delete
    Empty your recycle bin.

    Try defrag again.

    If it still hangs, browse to \Windows\Applog (hidden folder), select all files, delete.

    Try defrag again.

    It would be worth downloading this free defragger - Diskeeper Lite - it works very well with my WinME and is quite fast.
