I was connected to the internet for a couple of hours. I started installing a software package from a trusted source from a CD. The message came up: "not enough disc space". I uninstalled the software. My HD is partition in C and D drives. I tried again on the D drive. The same result. All of sudden several of my files and folders were gone. I lost number of shortcuts and .pst files. My .pst files were set up according to calendar year (2002, 2003, 2004, etc).
I downloaded the file recovery freeware and scaned the HD. I can see the deleted files, including the .pst files.
I contacted the manufacturer of the software and they told me that the disc had some problems but not the type of problems that happened in my case.
I would like to know if anyone had similar problems. I am not using my computer at the moment. The image of the drive is created.

Thank you
