    Hi all,

History-ctrl+It will not delete self. On the internet options I have the (days to keep history) set at one day. It will not clear it self. When I click on clear history button nothing happens.
With my wife and grand kids on the internet, the history file is getting larger. I am new at the computer and I am new here, need all the help I can get. I have windows xp home.

    thank you,

Look at the information on this page which indicates some third party software can create the problem.

No idea why the clear history button in internet options does not work but...

Download tweakui for windows XP, install it, then in the control panel applet for tweakui, click on the paranoia tab, click all the boxes to clear the run histories. This is doing it the easy way :p

I suppose it wouldn't hurt...Go Here download and run Startup list...
It will generate a list that you can paste here for someone to look at.

Something is strange...What OS are you running...If XP when you ran Spider you must make sure that Complete Hard Drive is checked not just Windows directory.

Have you tried deleteing right from the history folder in Explorer?

It looks like you have Win 2000 IE 5 have you tried the repair feature in IE assuming it has one in 2000.

control panel>add/remove programs>highlite IE and click add/remove and select repair

Well that's to bad the repair didn't work.

There is nothing that jumps right out at me in your startupsbut I don't know that much about to the bad stuff. I'll se if someone else can look at it.

In the history folder you can always click edit then select all then delete... but it would be nice to make the clear history button work correctly
