HI guys

I have lots of temp files that I can't delete because it says they are still open in Chrome. I have tried advanced settings to delete cache, history etc. I have also
uninstalled Chrome then re installed it. But they are still there and mounting up by the day. Any ideas please?

Restart your computer, then wait for it to completely settle down from the restart.
Do NOT click on or open any apps or browser windows.

Type %temp% in the search box, then press the Enter key.
When the folder appears, select and delete all the temp files in it.

Type c:\windows\temp in the search box, then press the Enter key.
When the folder appears, select and delete all the temp files in it.
(Note: This is assuming Windows 10 is installed in the C: drive)

Did it work?

If it did, how many temp files in MB's or GB's did it remove?

There were 38 files, it took away 37. I am grateful for that. Many thanks. I don't know why that happened, it usually gets rid of temp files each time I close up.

I don't know If you can help with this problem I have too. The text seems to break up and is unreadable at times. I've tried changing the font but it still happens.

They've all come back on: Every one of them. It says they are open in Chrome.

Why do these temp files keep coming on? When I restart as you advised they go. But once I open a page they all come back on. Nothing will clear them(%temp%) only to restart.

They are there because Chrome needs them or a addon is bringing them back.

I haven't used Google Chrome since April 2014.
I hated it and swore never to use it again.

Another thing to consider; is OP signing into Chrome so everything is synced. If so, that could be bringing back everything that's logged on in Chrome.

May I ask what browser you recommend then please. I have used Firefox a few times. There appear to be so many advertised on Facebook but I don't like downloading any of them in case they have a virus.

Personally I think you system is compromised.....either virally or browser based infection. I would recommend running Hitman Pro, Malwarebytes, system ninja, superantispyware to clean your system. Run full scans of each... all are free or free to try for 15-30 days. Then start a new post in the security/malware section of the forum for further cleaning/debugging.

May I ask what browser you recommend then please
I use Chrome as my main browser......but I don't sign in to chrome. 1. I only have a PC. 2. I don't sync across multi devices. 3. I only use 2 extensions in any of my browsers.

I also have FF, MS New Edge Chromium.....I use them every now and then, just to stay current with them.
