Hi guys,
I've got a Dell Dimension 5150 and recently installed Windows updates a few days ago. When I restarted the computer, a blue error screen appears after the XP loading page. I tried running it in safe mode, safe mode with networking and the last known good config but the error codes still appear as follows:
Normal mode & last known good configuration: 0x000000FC
Safe Mode: 0x0000007E
Safe Mode with Networking: 0x00000050
I've been told there may be a driver problem. I rang microsoft and the technician I spoke to said that if I could get a Windows XP cd, he would be able to guide me through a few steps where I wouldn't have to reformat the PC and I wouldn't lose my documents. My question is would it be possible to do that? If so, I may purchase a Windows XP disc, and also is it better to purchase the XP disc rather than the Dell Operating System CD?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.
