Do you have the minimum required service packs for your operating system? Many applications have a minimum service pack level for Windows 2000 (usually SP4) and for Windows XP (usually SP2):

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 1: (July 31, 2000) http://download.microsoft.com/download/win2000platform/SP/SP1/NT5/EN-US/sp1network.exe

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 2: (May 16, 2001) http://download.microsoft.com/download/win2000platform/sp/sp2/nt5/en-us/w2ksp2.exe

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 3: (July 30, 2002) http://download.microsoft.com/download/win2000platform/SP/SP3/NT5/EN-US/W2Ksp3.exe

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 4: (June 26, 2003) http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/6/A/E6A04295-D2A8-40D0-A0C5-241BFECD095E/W2KSP4_EN.EXE

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Security Rollup: (September 13, 2005) http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/7/b/27b1d1a3-0299-4336-b88a-22b9f09817e2/Windows2000-KB891861-v2-x86-ENU.EXE

    First Name:
What's the "service tag number" of that Dell Dimension L733r?

    What's the processor speed?
(It supposedly comes with an Intel Pentium III 733 MHz processor, but I'm wanting to confirm that)

    How much RAM is there?
(It originally comes with 64 MB, but it supports up to 512 MB and uses PC100 SDRAM modules)

Do you know how to submit a HijackThis log here?
