I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 with windows vista. I get message error 2000-0141. Is my hard drive dust? In bios it says primary hard drive none secondary hard drive none.

    Howdy,

    Could be the Hard drive

    Try this

At the Dell BIOS splash screen, press the <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <D> keys at the same time.
The computer beeps once to acknowledge that the hard drive diagnostics have been initiated, and then the following message appears:

    IDE Diagnostics running, please wait
    Primary

    Thanks

How do i get to the bios splash screen I only have the option of pushing 3 f keys. I am assuming <D> is delete.

So if it says primary does that mean the hard drive is gone? :D

I also changed the order of the bootable devices which I saw in another post to check for the usb first but that did not work either.

After the extended test it says no partition identified. I think I hear the hard drive spinning though to the right side of the computer. It is making some clicking noises though.
