My computer fan was running full blast a day or two. Then it wouldn't turn on- just went into power save several times. I've had that problem in the past but was always able to restart and get it going.
Today it worked this morning. Tonight it won't turn on at all, power light flashes amber, and it makes a little quiet tick sound but nothing else. any suggestions? I did remove power cord and pressed on button ten seconds to get rid of static electricity. but it still won't turn on.

1st thing to do is try a new power supply.......or a different power supply

Can I use the power cord from my laptop Dell Inspiron N5010? Oops, probably not, since the cord connects differently.

What replay means is to actually switch out the actual physical power supply from the computer with one that's known to be in working order, not just the power cable.

Swapping the PSU in an Inspiron 530

I'm a female and a senior citizen. I have swapped out power supplies a few times on our computers. It is not that hard.
