Dell INSPIRON 630M Runs On A/C Power But Battery Never Charges

My uncle sent me a Dell Inspiron 600M for my birthday last year to do my junk work, but my DELL INSPIRON 600m battery does not charge. The battery indicator flashes red. But it still works with AC Power when i take it off the indicator start flashing red.PLEASE HELP

If it works ok on a/c power then the battery is shot and will need replaced.

is there a way to find out when was the last battery replacement b/c this was a gift from my uncle i dont kno when was it

I have a Dell Inspiron 630M wich runs as long as i want on A/C Power but never charges. What should i do. PLZ HELP

I suppose you can look on the battery itself and see if theres a date on it. if not i dont know any other way to check.but when it flashes amber or red its not charging. it should be a blue color. plus you can maybe check the battery status and if it says not charging then you know its shot.
