I have a 19 inch flat screen Dell. It has a usb port on the rear of it. It does not work at this time. When I installed the monitor it was plug and play. I do have a disk for it though. The disk says ... html user documentation, drivers(inf, icm and cat files).
I would like to use the port. If I use the disk will it add what I need or will it mess up my working monitor?

    Thank you

YOu have to connect a USB cable from the monitor to the Tower. The you can use the other ports. I have the same monitor.

Unless you know of a magical way of connecting USB to the video stream, yes.

The monitor simply contains a USB 2 port hub.

If you don't connect the hub to the PC, its an unused hub.

    monitor

i accidentally came across this while surfing so the actual connection is on the bottom of the screen. Now that makes since didn't realize all that stuff was therefore giving you the 2 ports to use in a more convenient location.

I use a similar monitor as well and after complete installation your monitor should have 3 cables connected to it - the usb, Power cord and digital cable.

I have my printer, camera, mem stick connected to them and a spare one.

Memnoch322 is right - after the connection you should have 4 usb ports to use on the monitor.

Wow had this monitor for a long time and I never used them....I don't remeber seeing a usb cord in the box but the specs said there was so I will have to locate it or buy a new one and utilize those ports...

    thanks
