What version of Windows is listed on the Microsoft sticker on that HP?

---------------------------------------------------------------

What's the model name and model number of that HP? If you don't know for sure, advise what the product number or service tag number on the sticker is.

Here is the support site for the Compaq Presario Media Center SR2019UK desktop which you should add and save to your browser favorites/bookmarks list so you can refer to it when needed.

According to its product specifications section, it was manufactured in August 2006 and came with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Update Rollup 2 pre-installed.

The recovery CD kit is no longer available for purchase from HP/Compaq nor from the HP/Compaq recovery center. :(

If you've formatted the hard drive, you've probably wiped out the built-in recovery partition, but here is the section on doing a system recovery - just in case you haven't.

It's possible that the Dell CD with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 will work, then you can use the 25-digit product code on the Microsoft sticker to activate it afterwards. All you can do is try.
