Hello, I'm new to this and will give you all the info I can. It appears that my desktop is hijacked. When I login to my profile, multiple windows pop up that say, "Failed to save all the components for file \\System32\\0000545d. The file is corrupted or unreadable." Then below that, "Windows detected a hard disk propblem." Then there are two tabs: "Scan and fix" and "cancel and reboot"

Of course if I cancel and reboot, it reboots but with the same problem. Also, a yellow exclamation on the lower toolbar pops up with "Critical error. Windows OS can't detect a free hard ddrive space. Hard drive error."

Many messages pop up including "Windows - Delayed Write failed."

All of my icons are hidden.

Also, if I try to access my program files from the Start menu, it says empty. Same for the control panel: nothing there.

If I switch users, I can access some programs but within minutes I get the same problem.

I tried downloading the TSG SysInfo tool but the download is not able to start.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530S with XP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I found a similar thread but it is closed and I don't know how to access the answer.

    Thank you for your efforts!!
