The icons on our desktop have lost their pictures. The name and links/short cuts are still there and working, but the icons themselves are just white now. Can anyone help?

(We are running Windows 98 Second Edition.)

It was like that when we started up this morning. We have 3 teens who download "willy nilly". We had them delete anything new from the past week, but still the problem persists.

How current is your AdAware...you could download and run Spybot

Are the icons all the same now or are they different just lacking color?

can you change them manually...right click on one... select properties and click change icon

    Buck,

Thanks a bunch for trying to help! We fixed the problem...went to Control Panel - Display-Display Properties-Appearance-Scheme-Windows Standard and voila...it was fixed!:D

    Thanks again.
