My desktop pc keeps restarting randomly. It happens more often while i'm gaming but sometimes it happens while i'm just browsing too. I checked temperatures of HDD, GPU, CPU and they were all normal. I checked event log and it only shows error 6008, which gives no specific info of why the PC restarts.

Voltage info from the BIOS is attached.

    Please help

    Howdy,

So does it shut off and automatically restart?

What Operating System are you using XP,Vista, Windows 7?

Just as we are talking, it restarted while I'm on my laptop and the desktop had no load whatsoever, and then it kept restarting in a loop, even before the Intel welcome screen shows up it restarts again. I've turned it off in-case it damages my hardware :/.

And I've also read about what you mentioned above, but I've heard if it's a temperature issue and I have the auto restart option disabled than I might damage my hardware :(....

Just a note: My HDD LED(Busy red light) isn't working since last week either, also my computer sometimes goes really slow and when I see the resource monitor when this happens it shows the HDD is taking too much load. The thing is I wiped everything on the HDD and reinstalled windows still no rejoice :(....

Do you think it could be a HDD problem making the computer restart...

Thanks for the help so far.

Yes could be the Hard drive going faulty...and disabling the auto restart will just show the Blue screen and not overheat the PC.

You can try a Hard drive test found on seagate site

Okay I have turned off the restart option.
    I'll keep you updated.
Also don't you think 165 is a bit too high temperature for motherboard :/
