    Hi again Magicians

Styxx has been helping me with this major problem previously posted and I am really frustrated with it.

I have reloaded Win ME uninstalled and re-installed Office 2000 and still my machine just locks totally when I try to open Excel or an Excel file.

Sometimes I get a message about Environment variables in Autoexec being moved to Windows Registry sometimes Excel has cause fault in User.exe and sometimes nothing.

Hope someone can suggest what I should try next before I hurl the thing through my own window...........Mike.

Here is my current Hijack This log..

Ahaaa, on last try got the message Excel caused a Gen prot Fault at etc etc and then let Scan disk run after resetting and it came up with the message...Scandisk found an Error on C: This drives boot area contains important information that is damaged or invalid.

What the heck does that mean & what do I do about it? Tried telling Scandisk to repair but that didn't seem to change anything.

    Wish I could smile

    Mike.
