difference between 2.5" and 3.5" Hard drive?

    A ridiculous question, I'm sure, but what's the difference between a 5.25 and 3.5" external HD? Just one is bigger than the other I guess? Is there an advantage over one or the other? Thanks

    It's harder to make smaller drives, so they end up being more expensive. The technology isn't any different, just smaller. :D
