Looking for some type of software program that allows you to sign a digital signature pad and have the signature go directly into a document. Preferablly into a PDF or Word document. We want to try to avoid having to import an image of the signature into the document. Any ideas or information would be appreciated.

Are you talking about a physical signature, as in signing a piece of paper? Software can not do that. You need some type of scanner, I believe there are specialized scanners for signing documents though.

I'm vaguely interested in this question. I have an extremely basic PDA. I can hand-write notes on the screen, then HotSync to the desktop version, then use a freebie screen-capture app to copy any area to the clipboard and paste into a Word doc. Do you consider this at all different from "having to import an image of the signature into the document", kellydanger?

Andy

brendandonhu: yes, I am talking about a physical signature. Kind of like when the UPS guy delivers a package and you sign for it electronically. I know that there are electronic signature pads like this available but I am looking for some sort of program that would import this directly to an open document.

XL Guru:
This sounds similar to what I am looking for but I want to try and avoid having to cut and paste into the document

Well you could just scan the signature and save it as an image...but if you want to put in real-time signatures, you need hardware to get them in to the computer.
