    Hi Can anyone help me, I have a foolishly inherited a DELL Dimension C521 desktop, into which I have attempted to install an ATI Radeon X1300 128MB Graphics card (low profile) which on the face of it work okay.

    However when I run the DirectX dialoge (dxdiag) or any of the DELL diagnostic scans, it reports that there is no 3D graphics support. I have downloaded and installed the latest 9.2 drivers from ATI for vista, with no luck.

    So when I try and play a DVD or some games it moans that theres no 3d Graphics card. Can anyone Help?
    Needless to say DELL support is as much use as a chocolate T-Pot.

    Dell Dimension C521
    Dual Core AMD processor
    3G RAM
    X1300 Radeon 128MB graphics card

    Checking the specs on that machine, it shows that a 1300 is an option over the onboard video. The onboard video is nvidia. Did you uninstall the old driver before attempting to install the ati card/driver?

    Here is the proper way to install a new video card;

    1 With the old card still installed, uninstall the old driver and any software that is dependent on the old card.

    2 Restart the system and let it fully boot and install the windows basic vga driver.

    3 Shutdown and install your video card

    4 Restart and cancel any found new hardware wiz

    5 Install the latest driver for your card and reboot when prompted.
