i have a dinosaur of a pc, a 1997 hp pavilion that wont turn on anymore, not sure why. when i push the button it does absolutely nothing. my question is can i install my hard drive (6gb) into my daughters sony vaio (4gb hard drive) so that i can get some important stuff off of it? also, would i be able to put a new 40 or 80 gig hard drive into the sony eventually? thanks

Is the Viao a desktop or a laptop (could be either with that name)?

Yes, just connect it a slave to any exisitng drive in the VIAO.

Not likely, the BIOS probably has a 32Gb limit. There may however be a BIOS update to raise that limit to 127GB.
