I'm having trouble with some directx 9c related games, namely ' the sim 2' and ' full spectrum warrior'

I get the exact same error everytime i try to run either of them, i've tryed reinstalling DX9c , But it just imediately goes to 'finished' when i run it.

I've tryed using an updated Directx.cpl (all i could think of)

any way the error message is:

    title: Directx runtime error
message: Directx 9.0c runtime must be installed.

When it is ( according to DXdiag)

I forgot my system specs sorry:
    60.77 nvidia driver's for GF 4 Mx 440
    Windows XP SP2
    1.6GHZ AMD
    Soundblaster Live!

    any help will be appriciated.

Could it be that your card doesn't work with DX9c? A "GF 4 Mx 440" is a little outdated and my not support or be compatible with the latest DX 9 functions. Just a thought.

Pls take note at the microsoft website when
you are download the DirectX 9.0c patch
the requirement to update DirectX 9.0c is not applicable to Win XP SP2 :)

DirectX 9.0c is still a bit buggy (according to some of my friends, I myself have little problems with it...yet). Unfortunately, DirectX doesn't seem to have an uninstaller, so you have to look for other paths.

Perhaps it could be that your video card can't handle DX9c. Try to obtain a later video card first (loaning a friend's would be best, rather than shelling out money on an uncertainty :D )
