Anyone have any idea how you can disable the instant search in the Vista start menu? It's really annoying that I can't use my keyboard shortcuts anymore to open options like the run menu or control panel. If you can't get rid of it, can I at least make so when I type after hitting the start menu it goes to menu items & not the instant search?

Welcome to TSG Defender1. To disable Windows Search
Type Services in the search/run bar in the start menu. Right-click Windows Search Service -> Select Properties -> Choose Disabled under start type. Then click stop. Once it has stopped, click OK. It will no longer start when Windows starts. You can always start it back up by doing the reverse.
